Three days in Vegas
Nick's birthday trip: the Strip, Fremont Street, AREA15 and a lot of really good food. Fun, but once was enough.

What we loved
- The company. Nagham says the best part will always be her handsome husband.
- The food. Second best part was all the delicious bites.
- Bazaar Meat by José Andrés for Nick's birthday dinner.
- Lobster toast at Sugarcane in the Grand Canal Shoppes.
- We had so much fun we honestly can't name a worst part.
What we didn't
- So much walking. If something looks close, it isn't. A 5 minute walk is really 15 or more.
- Vegas was a been there, done that one for us. Glad we did it, crossed it off the bucket list.
Would we go back?
The restaurants, yes, we'd go to them again anywhere. Vegas itself, probably not, unless it's a special event someone else is planning.
What it cost
Our trip: about $3,170 for two
Flights about $920 for both of us. The Palazzo was $1,200 for three nights. Food about $800: Bazaar Meat about $300, breakfast at Sugarcane about $100, the breakfast buffet at Wynn about $200 and about $200 everywhere else. AREA15 about $250.
Tips
- Wear comfy shoes. Everything is farther than it looks.
- Plan on more time than you think to get anywhere on the Strip.
- Bazaar Meat is a great pick for a birthday dinner.
- Sugarcane is right in the Grand Canal Shoppes if you're staying at the Venetian or the Palazzo.
